My primary mode of intervention is grounded in feelings and experiences rather than cognitive restructuring or thought modification. This stems from the findings that emotions and feelings are deeper and more fundamental psychological forces in our lives, driving much of our thoughts and actions
While rational reflection and critique can be valuable tools for examining our actions and emotions, often, when we feel anxious, helpless, or conflicted, it's because our feelings and emotions stem from fundamental human needs that overwhelm rational thought. Hence, I provide a safe, and compassionate space; I attend to and value the topics you bring forth, and we will explore and honour your feelings within our work.
All mental health issues are inherently relational. Every emotion, thought, and the behavioural pattern is embedded within and emerges from specific interpersonal relationships; after all, we are inherently social beings. Contemporary clinical psychology and counselling research consistently highlight the therapeutic relationship as one of the most significant predictors of treatment outcomes.
Precisely because relationships themselves possess therapeutic potential, I welcome all emotions and feelings that arise within our working relationship. I invite you to bring these emotions – both positive and negative – into our work whenever you feel comfortable doing so, and we will be there to understand them together.
Psychotherapy can be viewed as a collaborative dialogue between two experts: you as the expert on your own life experiences, emotions, thoughts, and actions, and me, drawing upon my psychological knowledge and counselling practice, to join you in exploring your resources and the possibilities of utilizing them.
Dialogical
In our work, both sides are equal; everything is open to discussion, and up for exploration. Together, we unravel the sources and meanings of your behaviours, thoughts, and feelings.
Many mental health issues and challenges stand in stark opposition to creativity and innovation. Conversely, creative language dialogue serves as a pathway out of emotional storms.
Creative
In our work together, I may employ metaphors, analogies, and other creative forms of expression. Additionally, I offer a diverse range of psychotherapy and related interventions, including creative therapies or psychological explorations that employ mediums such as painting, sandplay, and even games.
